“I found Megan on Instagram when my husband and I were just starting to talk about starting a family. I loved the information and the empowering messages she shared about being pregnant, the birthing process, and postpartum life. I felt like I was seeing a whole different perspective on pregnancy and postpartum as opposed to the typical ‘pregnancy is miserable and birth is scary and unimaginably painful’ attitude I was accustomed to. When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to meet with her as a potential birth doula. We ended up choosing Megan as our doula because she took time to understand our hopes and goals for my pregnancy and birth, and prepared us on what to expect for every aspect of labor, birth, and postpartum. Throughout my pregnancy, she would regularly check in with how myself and baby were doing, and was always available for any questions I had. When I realized I was in labor, we reached out to Megan who made it clear she was readily available to assist whenever we wanted her there. When it was time to go to the hospital, she was there shortly after we arrived and was quick to transform the room into a peaceful and calm environment. Throughout labor, she was there to offer various methods of support, assistance and reassurance. I felt so attended to, comforted, and safe with her presence - I couldn’t have imagined labor without her there! After our daughter joined us earth side, Megan made sure we were all comfortable and in good hands before she left us to soak in all the baby snuggles. Even after we got home from the hospital, she checked in with us regularly to make sure we were adjusting to postpartum life. Throughout the entire journey, Megan was an integral support person and I am so glad she was there to help us through it!”
